Busy

I entered the dining room

And smelled cooking mushroom...

On the dining table sat a roast,

Waiting for the people to raise a toast...

Beside it sat the tasty plum cake,

Waiting to be cut eagerly after bake...

The gingerbread and cookies looked tasty

While the dining room was empty but feasty...

In the hall,the tree was adorned with hangings, 

Waiting for the people to praise the danglings... 

But you wonder where the people are- 

And so do I wonder where the people are... 

Finally I found them, 

All were busy creating a mayhem... 

Forgetting the delicious gorgings

And busy in their own workings 

Some swayed to music,

While others bragged of their new tunic,

Some were busy opening gifts,

While some were talking of upcoming rifts. 

Finally arrived the host,

And asked everyone to come for toast...

So that the goodies could n't be forgotten

And everyone entered the cosy den...

For it was the eve of Christmas

Yes the most awaited Christmas!!!
